Introduction

Dj-Serv is an application designed to play non-stop music on any Windows XP computer, either with a DJ present, or in a totally unattended mode.

The program is able to mix the songs together, either automatically or with user intervention.

It is capable of interfacing directly with software to create a streaming radio station (if required), or can simply be put to use through speakers for parties, live DJ gigs, or simply for your listening pleasure at home.

DJ-Serv has been designed to give you lots of options for making playlists, again either 'hand-picked' ones, or automatic ones, for the perfect compromise between total control and seamless automation (ie unattended use).

DJ-Serv comes with, additional software components, some of which are optional extras, that allow you to, for example:
  • Update SHOUTcast streaming servers with the currently playing song information
  • Update web pages with images and recently played lists

(The two items above are both included in the packaged program PlayingNow, which appears as a globe in the taskbar when running DJ-Serv)

    Additional features at a glance:
  • Integrated Microsoft Access database (searchable by any field) that stores a multitude of information about each audio track in your music library. Find any item in your audio library, even if you have thousands of songs, in an instant!
  • Powerful audio players (assignable to one sound card, different sound cards, or even virtual (non-existent) devices).
  • Integrated CD Ripping module for converting your CD collection to mp3 files for playback in DJ-Serv.
  • Built-in capability for winamp DSP plug-ins that make the sound from DJ-s totally customisable, smooth and stable (consistent volume, for example)
  • Integrated Scheduling software (PRO version only) so that you can make dynamic playlists by category, rather than specifying specific songs in a playlist. You can use this to create 'mood' playlists that only play at a particular time of day.
  • Live Source player to allow input from the 'real world' to the audio chain in DJ-Serv.
  • Command Cuts allow you to control what the software does, and when. For example: load a different playlist at 4 o'clock, play from the line in at 6 o'clock for one hour, and so forth.
